Participants will be taught using traditional Hawaiian implements such as papa ku‘i ‘ai (poi pounding board) and pōhaku ku‘i ‘ai (stone poi pounder) with locally gathered ingredients (kalo) from the ‘āina (land). While this family-based cultural experience is free of charge, each participant will need to order and purchase cooked kalo for the event. E Ku’i ‘Ai Kākou Sessions may be subject to sudden date/time changes.
For the safety of all participants, space is limited for each session (no more than 10 each session). At each event, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Health (DOH) guidelines will apply as mentioned above. Pre-registration is required for all participants. Keiki will need to be accompanied by an adult.
